creative ventures

It’s pleasing to be involved in the creative ventures of others, even in a minor way. A new piece of music composed by Duncan Kemp with images by me to accompany it.

Printmaking adventures

My goal with printmaking is to keep it experimental and as receptive to the incidental as my painting. To this end I have been experimenting with collagraph prints. This technique allows me a greater sense of freedom when preparing the plate, which is fun. This translates into a freer looking print. My longer term plan is too also draw into the plate at the printing stage and to combine intaglio with relief printing processes. For now please enjoy my latest explorations.

A work in progress

A work in progress!
My aim has been to to capture the feel of moving water.

New ways.

I’ve been focusing on the materials in an attempt to capture the essence of my seascapes & landscapes. So far I am happy with the results.

As Autumn approaches.

As Autumn approaches, I’ve settled into an experimental period.  It feels as though I’ve been painting quite intensely and the chance to play is welcome.

Sketches.

Experimental works exploring ideas.

New year, new work.

A sample of paintings completed this month; I’ve enjoyed being freer in my approach.
