Full steam ahead.

I’m painting in preparation for Warwickshire Open Studios next month.

Pictures of the paintings I plan to exhibit below. Also there will be browser work & some of my small paintings too.

I am excited to be showing some of my new work and looking forward to meeting our visitors.

Open from 15th June – 30th June. 11-5 apart from Sunday 12-5.

My inspiration

My inspiration for these paintings is the saying ‘Time and tide wait for no man.’ I often use the sea as a metaphor for time; here I reflect on those rare moments of peace.

Chance plays a big part in the way I work. It frees me up, allowing me the space to hint at places that exist within us rather than in reality.

From time to time.

Inevitably at this time of the year we are looking back at the previous year at the same as thinking ahead to the next. I am inspired by time’s linear journey anyway so it seems appropriate to to show something painted at the start of 2018 alongside the newest.

Fun developments.

I have enjoyed a few weeks of experimentation and I am pleased with the results. Currently on a small format I am looking forward to working on a larger scale.

Warwickshire Open Studios 2018 was a great success.

Not resting on my laurels; I’m now back at the metaphorical easel creating more new paintings, for my upcoming solo exhibition at The Theatre Chipping Norton. My work will be on display from 3rd September -23rd September. The gallery is open for viewing prior to performances and from 1-3 Saturdays.
