My inspiration is the transience of time. I draw on the rhythms of the tide to mirror time’s momentum; to capture an imagined moment whilst at the same time reiterating time’s cyclical nature. In not being too realistic in my representation I hope to capture the essence of a place.
I like to be experimental responding to the materials as they react on the canvas. I build up layers and use different mark making techniques as appropriate to my subject matter. My favoured medium is oil paint.
